Art Supply Kits
the Crenshaw Dairy Mart was providing free art supplies to The Watts, South Central, and Pico-Union Los Angeles Community intermittently through the Summers of 2020 and 2021 with partners including Summaeverythang Community Center and The Mistake Room.
In the words of bell hooks, “The function of art is to do more than tell it like it is--it’s to imagine what is possible.” The Crenshaw Dairy Mart is committed to fostering visionary space and the materials to build it. The first iteration of kits will include a watercolor set, watercolor paper, paint brushes, an embroidery hoop, embroidery needles, thread, fabric, a sketchbook, and an instructional zine.
